Link Gumbo-9/27/09

Well that was a squeaker, but a win's a win. On to the links...

Road game means no post-game press conference, but here is last nights Inside LSU Football.

This may be the most doomed I've ever seen a fan base after a 4-0 start. Pittman at ATVS expands on the fan insanity, which is a shame, because he also points out what I believe is the real heart of this teams problems.

LSU enters the 1st Harris Poll (and presumably the BCS later this week) as a consensus #4 with our 2 toughest opponents ranked ahead of us. Chad Jones was also honored for his outstanding play this week as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.

Searching for links this morning has only provided more frustration. John DeShazier at the Times-Pic thinks we have nowhere to go but down. Laney at the Advoc is more reserved about the doom-saying, but it's there. Varney at the Times-Pic seems to be the most level headed while still acknowledging the team's inconsistencies.

This is going to be a rough week and I doubt that a Georgia win will quell the panic. And what if we remain undefeated and come home to face a probably Tebow-less Florida? A win will only set the fan base into another month-long panic, this time about Bama (which could end up being a 1 vs 2 matchup). A win at Tuscaloosa may be just enough to settle us down and start believing in this team before an eventual rematch with a Resurrected healed Tebow-led Florida. I just hope the team doesnt look as far ahead as we panicky fans do.

Remember, CLM's weekly press conference is again today at noon, Live on your radio in BR, streaming here afterward.
