Another day stalled at work, but work pays the bills 'round here. And some of those bills are purple and gold...

I now have my tickets, and yes, they're spectacular. On to the news...

LSU continues to run headlong into the future and I say is now fully in "Web 2.0", whatever that means these days. New website (geaux zone redesign too), free online video and audio (including last nights premiere of the Les Miles radio show), facebook, 9 (!) twitter accounts. That looks like a Damn Strongtm web presence to me! Which reminds me that i need to finish the Geaux Show facebook page...

More news from the kids in the hall. Chad Jones switches to free safety and still plans to pick up a bat this spring, the swine flu is spreading on campus and has caught some athletes but no football players yet, and Chavis is "cross training" many defensive players in an effort to help them better understand what's going on in his defensive schemes.

ATVS Continues full bore (during apparently their best month ever) with more interesting preseason coverage than you can shake a stick at, including a quick breakdown of who will contribute from the freshman class, a reality check on the supposed greatness of Jordan Jefferson, and what we should all be looking for from the D this season

Here's Coach after Tuesdays final scrimmage

We close on a somber note with news of the death of Bobby Greenwood, the center for the Go team on those historic 58 and 59 teams.

Today's image from a new gallery of wonderful Mike pictures by a friend of a friend. You can see more here.

Classes resume today, which means the Reveille swings back into press. Congrats to Geaux Show alum Casey Gisclair who now holds the office of Deputy Sports Editor at the venerable rag. In what is surely the future of newspapers, you can read the entire Reveille online for free. Some good pieces today on everything from our new dc, a profile of our 4th string QB, and a recap of everything that has happened since spring semester ended. Get to class, you hooligans.

A wonderful piece in yesterdays New York Times on how Andrew Hatch is dealing with his return to Harvard (who didn't accept any of his credits earned at LSU, those bastards).

Justin "The Blogger" Goar has a nice interview with gatorsfirst.com about the upcoming season. Patronize them, why don't cha.

Another successful scrimmage on Saturday (aren't they all?) Get Les' take on the day straight from him.

Still working on The Geaux Show facebook page. This social networking thing is more difficult than it looks.

Bud Light is putting out college themed cans for football season, and naturally a bunch of over-protecting wussies think it's a bad idea. Thankfully LSU seems to be more worried about trademark infringement than social impact. I just hope this leads to purple and gold Abita bottles. Also in beer news, da ragin' cajuns gonna be servin' beer at cajun field. Having been to one of their subdued games, anything to liven up that crowd is a good thing.

ATVS has completed their review of the 2009 class. You can read Pittman's entire dissertation here.

Craig Loston has been cleared to play. That strange noise you hear is Chavis cackling in an evil mad scientist way.

After another week of practice, the tigers are a little dinged up. Thankfully, it's nothing too serious.

T-Mich and Hightower have been named to men's and women's Wooden Award watch list. And this season's schedule for both the Men's and Women's teams have been announced.

I leave you this weekend with Coach Miles after Thursdays practice. Their will be a scrimmage at TS today and a final one next Tuesday. 2 weeks cant pass soon enough.

Justin Goar: Roast of the SEC

Justin Goar, Tailgating Guru, Beer Conisuer, and all around good guy is a longtime friend of the show. Occasionally, we will feature his latest brain seepage here on geauxshow.com. You can read more of his great work on BleacherReport.com

With Comedy Central running roast reruns and such over the last week, I thought it’d be fun to take part in a roast—the problem being that I’m not famous and probably not funny enough to be invited to one.

The only roast I’ll ever take part in will be in my imagination, so that’s where we’re going today. Off to my imagination, where I’m the only roaster and the SEC coaches are the guests of honor.

Unfortunately, reading a roast may lose a little something in translation, so imagine a roast veteran like Jeffrey Ross or Greg Giraldo delivering these jokes. It may make it slightly more bearable than imagining my hacky, pudgy, unfunny self doing it.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen. It’s really an honor to be here amongst such respected coaches. The SEC is home to some of the biggest names in the coaching business, as well as some prime targets, so let’s get started.

It seems the dais is filled with the usual stock characters in every roast. The crazy guy, the douchebag, the oversexed one, the other douchebag, the old person, the has-beens, and the people you barely recognize and forget why they're famous. There's also that one guy who nobody really understands why he's there in the first place because he doesn't seem qualified to do this...

"So let's start with Gene Chizik for no apparent or appropriate reason. Yes, Gene's here despite being 5-19 at his last roast. How is it that you do a horrible job but keep being invited back? Do you have the same agent as Keanu Reeves and Vin Diesel?

"Man, Tennessee hires Lane Kiffin the same year Chizik gets hired at Auburn. It was like Christmas for Crimson Tide fans this year. I haven’t seen Alabama fans this happy since segregation.
